Developed in 1983, the Madadeni Industrial Estate is the smallest of Ithala’s three industrial estates. Located adjacent to Madadeni Township, approximately 17 km from Newcastle, the estate provides affordable industrial space that supports local manufacturing and employment.
The estate is home to businesses primarily operating in the clothing and textile sector, including cut, make and trim (CMT) manufacturers, bedding manufacturers, and one of South Africa’s largest fibre manufacturing facilities. Collectively, these businesses provide employment for approximately 5,000 people, making a significant contribution to the local economy.
As part of Ithala’s broader industrial property portfolio, the estate supports enterprise development and regional economic growth, reinforcing Ithala’s role as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s leading property owners and development agencies.
